We’ve just received the press release for the results of The Great British Pantomime Awards and couldn’t wait to share it with you. Panto is such a huge part of what we do here, and having a whole night celebrating the wonderful work of this industry is all good in our book! We worked closely with our friends at QDOS this year to create such fabulous pantomime and to see our combined effort celebrated in such a way has been so exciting for our team. This has definitely been our best year yet!

The Great British Pantomime Awards
13th March 2017
Last night the Great British Pantomime Awards took place at the Theatre Café London. In a glitzy ceremony presented by Christopher Biggins the awards been establish to celebrate the best of British pantomime. There is exceptional support from producers and a clear message was repeated throughout the evening that an industry which has previously gone under the radar is now getting its moment. Qdos, Evolution, Jordan Productions, UK Productions and PHA all had productions or performers who picked up awards. Independent producer Simon Fielding also collected with two awards for best Choreography and ‘Beechdean Award for the Best Pantomime (capacity under 750). The other Best Pantomime awards went to Dick Whittington, Evolution, Canterbury (750-1500 Capacity) and Dick Whittington, Qdos at the Birmingham Hippodrome (1500+) Capacity. Gary Hind who won the Musical Supervision award for Cinderella at the Palladium thanked the Great British Pantomime for acknowledging music and pantomime, which is too often overlooked. Olivier award winner Sharon D Clake who won ‘Best Female Baddie’ for her performance at the Hackney empire was thrilled to have picked up the first ever award in her category. The evening was finished with a ‘Lifetime Achievement’ presentation to Biggins for his work in the pantomime sector. The evening was streamed live on Facebook and can still be seen @GBPantoAwards. The Great British Pantomime would like to acknowledge the support of Production, Light and sound, Rare Design, Beechdean Farmhouse Dairy Ice Cream, CME Personnel Consultancy and Limelight Scripts and the organisers are already on the lookout for a theatre for next years ceremony.
